Strategic Equity Capital (SEC) is a London-listed investment trust seeking to deliver absolute returns to investors over a medium-term period, using private equity appraisal techniques and a practice of constructive corporate engagement
(ticker: SEC).
SEC listed on the London Stock Exchange on 19 July 2005, having raised £70.4 million (98.5p per share) from institutional and high net worth investors. In November 2005, the Company issued a further 2,226,000 shares at a small premium to net asset value, raising a further £2.3 million.
The Company invests primarily in publicly quoted companies that the Manager believes are undervalued and could benefit from strategic, operational or management initiatives.
